Yu Yu Hakusho - The story -

Yu Yu Hakusho
is the name of a manga/anime telling the story of Yusuke Urameshi, a fourteen-year-old rebel boy who dies unexpectedly giving his life when he tries to save a child from a car accident. From now on, everything in his life changes! Botan, the deity of death, takes him to the Spiritual World but, here, the prince of Rei Kai, Koenma Jr (Son of the great Enma Daioh also known as King Yama) decides to give him a second chance because of his noble sacrifice! So Botan, who is under prince Koenma's authority, takes him back to the Living World, but now Yusuke's fate is in his own hands and he must do good deeds in Earth with his new amazing powers! He becomes a Spirit Detective and receives his first assignment: he have to recover the three powerful artifacts stolen from Rei Kai's vault by three demons named Gouki, Kurama, and Hiei. Koenma Jr. asks for Yusuke's help to retrieve these treasures (the mirror, the sword and the orb) cause his father, Enma Daioh, could get angry if he would found out they've been stolen.
Yusuke first has to face Gouki who owns the stolen orb which entraps children's souls.Yusuke can't beat his tough body, as strong as steel, but at the end he defeats his opponent with an artifice, by pointing his rei gun at his mouth wich is not strong as his body! The second artifact (the mirror of darkness which can grant any wish taking his life in return) is recovered without any fight, 'cause Kurama, who has stolen it, wants to use the mirror to cure his sick mother (please note that Kurama and Minamino, that Yusuke meets in the hospital, are the same person!). The last thief Yusuke has to face is Hiei who has got hold the sword of darkness, made of poison that can turn anything it hits to a beast. Hiei is the strongest among the three demons but, this time too, Yusuke manages to retrieve the last treasure, and returnes all three to Koenma. During these days, Botan helps him with her (Yes she's a female deity!) knowledge and experience. Yusuke's second mission is to join the tournament in search for a successor of Genkai, master of the rei-kou-hadou-ken technique, to find and defeat the demon named Randou who has already eliminated 99 martial arts masters and stolen all their technique. If this one wins the tournament, then he shall inherit Genkai's powers and destroy everything. Also Kazuma Kuwabara, another rebel boy from his school, goes to the tournament and joins Yusuke, becoming his best friend during his adventures, although at first he's his rival in contending the leadership of school gangs. Yusuke reaches the final match where he find his opponent is Shourin who, transformed into a giant, has just easily defeated Kuwabara. Yusuke realizes that Shourin it's just this Randou he's looking for. Now Shourin fights Yusuke into his real form as Randou, but at the end, although he's very strong and has the special ability to make his opponent become small, Yusuke wins the final match and becomes the one who shall inherit Genkai's powers. So Yusuke has to work under her excruciating training and returns after six months just in time for his next mission: Botan shows up and informs him that he has to stop the four holy beasts (the shiseijuu) and get the whistle which controls the insects infecting untold numbers of human hosts. Yusuke must destroy the Four Holy Beasts (Funimation calls them Four Saint Beasts) cause the Makai insects (Makai means demon world) are turning humans into a ravaging horde of mindless zombies. Kuwabara joins Yusuke to save the world and Koenma sents Hiei, a master swordsman with a mysterious third eye called the Jagan, and Kurama, holding a wealth of wisdom, to help Yusuke accomplish his mission. So they face the four beasts named Genbu (vs Kurama), Byako (vs Kuwabara), Seiruu (vs Hiei) and Susaku (vs Yusuke). Susaku, who is the leader, plans to capture Keiko (Yusuke' s childhood friend, this girl cares very much about him) but Botan comes to protect her. Helped by Geika and Kuwabara, Yusuke wins his battle and gets the whistle so the humans brainwashed by the insects return to be normal...

These are only a few adventures Yusuke lives as a Spirit Detective and more there will be in the Dark Tournament saga, but our job is not to write about them! ^__- So let these following music videos tell you something more and introduce the fantastic world of Yu Yu Hakusho.

I made this video when I first got my DC 30 pro. The idea popped into my head when I discovered that the lead singer from Snot (Lynn Straight) died in a car accident. I thought Snot was a great up and coming band that really had a knack for mixing both Hardcore Metal and Funk. The drummer and bass player for this band are amazing. Anyway, this one's for you Lynn, RIP man...

Ghostbusters was the next video we did after "Invincible" (you can find this music video in our Gundam Wing Special Guest Star), and in several ways was a very experimental learning piece. It included several firsts for us. It was the first video that we did using Vegas Video (our current video editing program) and the first one we've done where we tried more to create a mood, rather than having a specific theme. It was also the first video we did where we were not both living in the same state.
Since we had such a strong, thought-through theme for "Invincible", we decided to try something different and not come up with a theme for Ghostbusters. Instead we set a goal to create a light-hearted, energetic mood. We wanted to try and create a video that integrated the off-beat energy of Yuu*Yuu*Hakusho in a way that was reminiscent of the off-beat wackiness of the original Ghostbusters movie.

Ahh, the first music video I made with my video capture card. And it didn't turn out badly at all. Hiei actually makes for a nice music video subject. And the song fits him nicely. Ideally, I'll remake this one and replace the two scenes with subs with clean video.
The clip with him running down the wall was actually something I was very proud of at the time. If you've seen the movie, you know he wasn't running nearly that long.
