From popular Studio Bones (RahXephon, Fullmetal Alchemist) and from Cowboy
Bebop creators it was born one of the most original anime series of the
last years... Wolf's Rain! First aired by Fuji TV in Japan in 2003 and
soon released in DVD, later in 2004 it was licensed in U.S.A. (Cartoon
Network [adult swim]) and other countries too. Scripted by Keiko Nobumoto,
character design by Toshihiro Kawamoto, mechanical design by Shinji Aramaki,
series director by Tensai Okamura; the incredible music is composed by
Yoko Kanno (best known for Macross Plus, Vision of Escaflowne, Cowboy
Bebop, Ghost in the Shell etc..) and we recommend to buy the superb 2
CD Original Soundtrack! The 26-episode anime series had a four-OAV sequel
corresponding to episodes 27-28-29 and 30 that complete the TV series
and was later readapted in a two volume-tankoubon manga. As often happens,
the manga and anime are completely different and the first one has a lot
of material that the second one doesn't have and vice versa, but one thing
is for sure: the manga progresses way too quickly and cannot properly
cover the whole series... Well our job is to provide you with some good
AMVs so... enjoy with them!

Wolf's Rain
- The story
Somewhere in a distant future, most of Earth is a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Here humans live in two separated classes: the common people, living in
squalor, and the nobles living like kings. Legends speak that when the
end of the world is near, wolves will appear and lead everyone to the
Rakuen. The Rakuen (this word could be translated as "Paradise"
but Wolf's Rain author Keiko Nobumoto doesn't want that people mean by
Rakuen a place where only good people go) is a legendary place, an infinitely
more pleasant paradise, but no one knows where it is... only wolves can
find it. But wolves have been extinct for 200 years... or so everyone
believes. It seems this is false as they have not disappeared... A few
wolves still survive, but they aren't regular wolves, they disguise themselves
as humans in order to survive among human people who attempt to capture
or kill them.
A white wolf named Kiba arrives from the wilderness, driven by the urge
to find the Rakuen... He is drawn by the scent of Lunar Flower that will
supposedly take wolfes to the Rakuen. The source of the Lunar Flower is
Cheza, a mysterious girl held captive in a laboratory by human scientists.
Since long time she appears to be sleeping, but suddenly awakes: she has
a strong bond with the wolves and just like they are searching for her,
she can feel their presence. In that same city live three other wolves:
Tsume, Hige and Toboe... Kiba first meets Hige and when he is getting
closer to Cheza, she is kidnapped by a mysterious and masked person, the
noble Darcia, who seems to know the most about Cheza and the legend...
The four wolves have different personalities and ideas, but after Kiba
talks about the place called Rakuen, they decide to all head there and
get chased out of the town...

This is a small Wolf's Rain video made from the very first episodes
of the anime serie. I've done it 2 or 3 days after the anime started
to be on TV in Japan. The goal was to do an introduction video to
the anime serie, in parallel of some fansubber friend that was fansubbing
this serie. Iknow when the first fansub episodes were released and
this video too, people liked it. Now the anime is finished and licensed,
that's sure this video lost some part of its interest, but who knows
maybe you'll like it anyway!

TECHNICAL ASPECTS: well. I wanted to enter this video into AWA Masters.
But then I decided it wasn't good enough. I finished this in ~9
hours. Not including ripping and encoding. My stupid DVDs couldn't
be read, so I only could rip the last four eps in the OVA of Wolf's
Rain. Other than that, the only effects were slowing down and speeding
up of clips. Nothing else. As I said, I was going to enter this
in Masters, and I didn't want it to be another Euphoria.
STORY ASPECTS: it basically retells the Wolf's Rain ending, but
with a small twist. Not showing the.. Ending ending.. If you get
my drift. Listen to the lyrics. Look at the clips. If I did my job
correctly, you should cry your eyes out.

It's our best music video to date, it took forever and even more
to create this thing and we are glad of a result.
About the AMV:
This AMV based on one of the most beautiful and the best anime ever
created - Wolf's Rain and on one of the most beautiful songs by
my favourite band Rage - Wake The Nightmares.
When I first heard this song, it struck me straight away by its
resemblance with the storyline of Wolf's Rain, and the idea of creating
AMV, that mix together this two things, was born right away.
After seeing the last four episodes of Wolf's Rain, I finally decided
to accomplish my plan. I hope you will enjoy this video!

What to say, this is my second video to date and I'm really satisfied
how it turned out. It was finished in October (2004) but I couldn't
find a way to upload it back then. Basically, this video shows the
relation between Kiba and the Flower Girl. In the anime their relation
isn't actually romantic (like here), but the footage had such material
and I've seen the potential of this song in that way. For most of
the time I think I follow the lyrics well and keep the watcher entertained.
Unless you've seen the show or like the song I doubt you'll understand
this video, but check it nevertheless. I LOVE getting feedback,
be it positive or negative.
