Dragon
Ball was born in the far-off year of 1984 as a comic strip in Weekly
Shonen Jump #51. But look at how much stuff came out from that simple
strip... The manga volumes, TV series, videogames, calendars, cards, movies,
GT series and every type of gadget! Dragon
Ball Arena always tried to give you more info about Akira Toriyama's
work! So a special section dedicated to "DB guides" could
not be missing: they will reveal all Dragon Ball mysteries starting from
those little pearls of wisdom, the Daizenshuu, until reaching the
two recent Dragonball LANDMARK and Dragonball FOREVER, published
by Shueisha Inc. to celebrate the new Japanese DB release. This
latest version of the manga, Dragonball Perfect Edition, is composed
by 34 volumes (Kanzenban), with new red covers and a new four-page, full-color
ending drawn by Akira Toriyama himself!
What's a Daizenshuu
and what does this obscure word mean? The Daizenshuu are ten books which
every Dragon Ball fan should own, because they are a great way to learn
about Toriyama's DB Work in its entirety.
Some people think that even the 2 Dragon Ball GT Perfect Files
are Daizenshuu, but they are not!!! They are special guides about DBGT:
have some stuff as any DB Daizenshuu and some cool pictures but none like
the amazing DB Daizenshuu pics! ^_^ So we deal with them separately.

The word "Daizenshuu"
can be broken into 3 parts:
Dai that means "Large"
Zen that means "Whole, Complete"
Shuu that means "Gather"
The two parts Zen and Shuu together make their own word: Zenshuu
that means "Complete Works". So putting all those words together
you come up with "Large Complete Works" and "Dragon Ball
Daizenshuu" should mean something like Dragonball: Large Complete
Guide.
This page was made in appreciation
of Akira Toriyama's work and is promoting it to viewers everywhere.
