But what are cels? A cel (or celluloid) is painting on transparent plastic sheet used to create an animation. Each cel is one "frame" and you will never able to imagine how many cels are needed to realize an anime! They are put behind one another to give the illusion of a continuous motion.
When the anime is realized, the cels are not wasted but they are distributed in specific stores from their producers to be sell to the fans from all over the world.
