(Aired 6/26/96)
Pan ni Omakase! Gokuu kyuu shutsu sakusen!!
Waiting for Pan!! The Tactical Strike to Rescue Gokuu!!
Gokuu and Trunks are peacefully sleeping in a holding cell. Rirudo is
staring at them from a monitor at his chair, wondering if these two wimps
could really have the powers that Dr. Myuu is looking for. Rirudo orders
that a group of medical robots examine the two prisoners. Meanwhile, a
strange growth of greenery is making its furtive way closer to the mouth
of the big metal tower. When she thinks that the coast is clear, Pan moves
forward -- into the path of a group of purple drone robots. They trample
her without noticing it. This bothers Pan so much that when the final
robot, a flag-bearer, stops on top of her, she loses her temper and trashes
it.
As Pan gets a little deeper into the tower, she is faced with the problem
of getting past all of the robots marching around. She decides to sneak
along the ceiling pipeworks, but the pipe she is on immediately breaks
and drops her into a big guard robot. Pan evades notice by slipping onto
a side corridor before the guard can turn around. But, the pain in her
head makes her want to return home. It also makes her careless -- the
wall she is leaning against opens out onto a conveyor belt. The belt drops
her into a pile of robot bodies, in what is obviously a robot factory.
Pan becomes happy with a new idea.
In her new disguise as a purple robot, Pan is extremely happy with her
ability to get around unchallenged. Then, she stumbles onto a meeting,
where Shogun Rirudo, in front of the teaming robot minions, gives a special
medal to Gill for its part in giving them some of the Dragon Balls. Pan
is outraged. Gill calls out "Shogun Rirudo -- Banzai." "Dr.
Myuu -- Banzai." Pan realizes that this must be a planet belonging
to Myuu, and the guy standing in front of her must be Rirudo. Further,
Gill is probably one of Myuu's creations. Before she can speculate much
more, a nearby robot berates her for blocking the exit; the presentation
is over.
In a lab elsewhere, Trunks and Gokuu are being (CAT) scanned. When the
3-D analysis of Gokuu is built up, the lead medic-robot becomes alarmed.
This robot interrupts Rirudo's mooning over Gill (Gill has all of the
spare parts that it can eat) to show the Shogun that Gokuu's energy level
is really high. Rirudo is shocked by the data. He wonders if Gokuu could
have easily defeated the EC4, and if it is wise to send the boy on to
Myuu as ordered. Gill approaches and offers to turn over all of the data
it has on Gokuu and Trunks' fighting pattern -- thus easily allowing them
to defeat the humans. Rirudo praises Gill for this.

[Commercial Break]

The EC4 are
hooked up to Gill, and they watch every battle that Gill has recorded
-- for Gokuu, Trunks and Pan. Rirudo is happy about this (the data on
Gokuu is completely entered into the EC4.) While the two human males sleep,
Pan is complaining about being stuck in with another bunch of purple robots.
She is additionally concerned as she watches the robots ahead of her phasing
through a solid wall. She stalls for time, but is pushed ahead by the
robots behind her. Bouncing off the wall, Pan is declared to be broken,
and is summarily thrown into a room filled with other malfunctioners.
(One robot keeps repeating "Where am I? Who am I?")
Another robot explains that this is the room for broken "machine
mutants." It tells us that the machine mutants were made by Dr. Myuu,
and that they destroyed the planet's original population. The robot gets
stuck repeating "this planet's inhabitants" as the camera shows
us that the mutants have taken over. (It is an old robot, so it remembers
what had happened so long ago.) It also knows that Gill, the prisoners,
and the Dragon Balls are all at the top of the tower. It asks what Pan
will do with this info, and she replies that she will rescue the prisoners,
of course. The old robot disagrees, and points out the garbage compactor
walls that are suddenly closing in on them.
Pan throws off the top half of her disguise, blows out the sealed doors,
and pulls all of the junk robots to safety. The old robot tells Pan of
the elevator at the end of the hall; Pan thanks it, and she runs down
the hall still wearing the bottom half of the robot shell. Rirudo is alerted
to the explosion, and tells the EC4 to capture Pan. The EC4 has absorbed
all of the data on the humans, and the smallest of the 4 robots asks the
leader for permission to handle Pan alone. The runt then taunts Pan, easily
phasing into the corridor walls to evade her attacks, before easily hitting
her with its missiles. The robot gloats over how Gill (identifying Gill
by its human-given name) has taught them all about the humans' fighting
patterns. Pan breaks into tears, then says that she hates all of them.
Pan's energy ball takes the runt robot by surprise and reduces it to a
blackened shell. Pan states that while she may be a small girl, she is
still strong.
The remaining 3 robots are watching videos of Pan and Trunks arguing over
whether Trunks can give Gill a snack. The three are amused at how completely
the humans will suckered in by DD4649T22006RS. Trunks says that Gill's
finding of a Dragon Ball was great, and the EC4 leader says "of course,
Gill was built by Myuu to have its own "dragon data" (Dragon
Radar.) Gokuu opens his eyes, saying that that was a mean trick (he had
been lying awake for a while.) Gokuu adds that Gill really was their friend.
The leader claims that the robot was just following its programming.
Then, Pan busts into the room. One robot blindsides her, slapping Pan
into the wall. Gokuu won't permit this to happen, and he powers up a bit
to escape his restraints; at the same time, destroying Trunks' medi-pod
(and the entire room.) Trunks also wakes up.

Episode #18
(Aired 7/10/96)
Deeta Nya Nai Ze!! Gokuu no Chou-honki
Yo, Some Data is Missing!! Gokuu's Ultimate True Determination
The EC3 (AKA, the EC4 minus 1) are laughing as Trunks and Gokuu look at
Pan's fallen body. Gokuu won't let them get away with this, and one of
the EC3 replies that with Dr. Myuu's data on the humans' fighting patterns,
they are undefeatable. Gokuu isn't so sure about that. He tells Trunks
to take Pan to safety, locate Gill, and recover the Dragon Balls. When
Trunks goes to Pan, the biggest EC3 robot attacks, but is blocked by Gokuu,
who tells it that its opponent is Gokuu only. Trunks escapes with Pan.
Gokuu and the EC3 leader fight, with Gokuu getting the worst of it. The
EC3 tells Gokuu that the data they have on him came from Gill, and Gokuu
acts surprised and angry. Rirudo is watching via his monitor, and he praises
Gill again for its help. Gill replies "Giro" happily. Gokuu
is given the chance to surrender, and doesn't take it. And, there is more
fighting. Gokuu gets roughed up again. The leader comments that Gokuu
is only fighting at a fraction of his known measured strength. Gokuu smiles
and fires off an energy ball. The EC3 sink into the floor to evade it.
Gokuu hasn't seen this trick before, and he stands stunned long enough
for a robot to set his pants on fire again. He has to actually be told
that the robots can phase through metal before he catches on (the leader
asks if he can not do such a simple thing himself, and Gokuu answers that
this is not "simple" -- it's awesome.) Gokuu asks how they like
his next attack, and rapidly fires off energy balls in all directions.
The robots get blown out of the walls, and onto the floor. They ask "who
is this guy?", and Gokuu claims that it is now his turn to kick butt.
Trunks takes Pan to the ship and discovers that it has been ransacked.
He confirms that the Dragon Balls are gone, and accidentally hits Pan
in the head with a can. Pan wakes up, and is told that the Balls are indeed
missing. Pan gets angry.

[Commercial Break]

The EC3 still
want to fight. However, the leader announces that they will continue as
the "mega cannon". In a silly transformer sequence, the three
robots combine into one larger, stronger robot. It powers up, and Gokuu
is happily impressed by the sight. Rirudo anticipates a good battle, and
the action begins. Eventually, Gokuu gets blasted through the nearby forest.
When he recovers, he gleefully comments on the Mega Cannon's great power.
Then he steps things up. Mega Cannon switches to flying formation, and
looks like a dragon fly. The resulting game of tag makes Rirudo angry,
and the Shogun starts emitting black tendrils of energy.
Mega Cannon is now a little faster than Gokuu, and its laser beam attack
keeps the boy running away. MC switches to power drill mode, and now uses
a ballistic attack. This is played for laughs for a few minutes. Then,
Gokuu grabs the tip of MC's head drill, and powers up a bit in order to
hold MC at bay. He then throws MC into a cliff and powers down. He tells
MC that this has been fun, but now that he knows their full abilities,
he is bored with them. He adds that he has powers that Gill hasn't seen
yet, and Rirudo watches on, emitting lightening and black tendrils. The
Shogun soon settles down, and then leaves the tower to take on Gokuu himself.
Gokuu unleashes a rapid series of body punches that Mega Cannon is unprepared
for, and finishes it off with Kamehame-ha. The three bodies of the Energy
Cannon 3 fall heavily to the ground.
Gokuu doesn't have time to gloat -- his stomach is growling at him. He
doesn't have time to search for edible food -- the great power he senses
coming at him is MUCH greater than MC's was. At the ship, Pan is arguing
with Trunks -- she wants to go along to get the Dragon Balls. Then, they
too feel a great ki, and wonder whose it is.
The narrator tells us that with Shogun Rirudo getting involved, the "Super
Battle" is about to begin. Rirudo and Gokuu both fly towards the
ship.
------------------------------------------
NOTES: My Japanese
wife originally heard the Shogun's name as "Girudo". However,
the title for episode 19 gives it as "Rirudo". I have changed
the Shogun's name in the earlier episodes, to correct this error.
"Ki" (AKA, "Chi") means "your internal energy
force." It could be treated as life energy, or as energy that you
focus on when you are about to hit an opponent in Karate.

Episode #19
(Aired 7/17/96)
Saikyou muutanto Rirudo
Set Out and Attack!! The Mighty Mutant Rirudo
Trunks and Pan are trying to figure out who the great ki is coming from,
and hoping that whoever it is hasn't defeated Gokuu. Gokuu's arrival alleviates
that fear, but they are still worried about who else will be arriving
soon. Pan adds that the Dragon Balls are missing, and she wishes that
they'd never found Gill. Then, Rirudo arrives in a rush of dust-laden
air.
Rirudo comments on Gokuu's defeating Mega Cannon, and Gokuu replies that
even with Rirudo's great ki, he can defeat the Shogun alone. Trunks also
thinks that he can take the robot single-handedly. Pan butts in, trying
to find out what is happening with Gill. Rirudo decides that he must tell
the humans that he is the infamous Shogun Rirudo. Pan is not impressed,
and she denounces Rirudo as the absolute worst. She attacks. Gokuu, Trunks,
and Rirudo all expect the girl to get smashed into the ground again, but
this time, she punches the Shogun hard in the face and follows it up with
a kick that sends him flying backwards. Trunks and Gokuu are stunned.
Trunks tentatively observes that Pan is indeed a chip off the old block,
and Pan agrees, stating that when she wants to do something -- she does.
She is not a mere kid anymore. She asks if Rirudo agrees, and demands
the Dragon balls back. Rirudo says that he can't do that, and stands up.
He straightens out his neck, with mechanical popping noises. Turns out
that the Balls have been given to Dr. Myuu -- for his "All Galaxy
Safe-something." Gokuu asks what this is, and we are told that Myuu
has created all of these "machine mutants" in his quest to take
over the universe.
Gokuu doesn't understand any of this. Instead, he concentrates on the
evils wrought be Rirudo. Rirudo suddenly targets on Pan and spits out
some kind of light-green lightening. Trunks protects the girl and gets
hit himself. The lightening changes, and Trunks falls to the ground, encased
in a lead-colored shell (ala the deep-freeze treatment Han Solo received
in the second Star Wars movie.) Then, the shell disappears. Pan demands
to know what happened to her friend, and springs at Rirudo. This time,
her punch has no effect and she is easily batted away. Gokuu can't understand
Rirudo's cryptic answers, and is ultimately told that he can find out
what's happening by visiting the big tower in the city. (Trunks was sent
there prior to being shipped off to Myuu's planet.) Pan flies to the tower,
telling Trunks to wait for her. Rirudo wants to capture Gokuu as well,
and fires off more green lightening from his mouth. Gokuu evades the blasts,
but part of the forest, and the entire ship, get lead-encased (they don't
warp away, though.) Gokuu feels sheepish at letting the ship get trashed.
Rirudo decides to switch to plain combat, which is to Gokuu's liking.
At the tower, Pan is wondering where Trunks is. Then she decides on the
brute force method and blows a hole randomly into the top of the
tower. The alarm system goes off, and the "red commandos" are
dispatched to level one. (Outside, Gokuu and Rirudo are fighting hard
and destroying the countryside.) The first round of commandos is quickly
trashed, while the lone survivor is requested to tell Pan where Trunks
is. The last surviving red commando says "gack."

[Commercial Break]

Rirudo gets
hammered into a cliff, and fires off a rocket punch to Gokuu's head. The
boy complains about this sneaky trick. The machine mutant apologizes,
and commands the rocket to return and hit Gokuu in the back of the head.
The fist opens at the last moment, grabs Gokuu's face, and plows the boy
into the earth. The hand returns to its owner, still holding Gokuu's limp
body. Rirudo laughs, and so does our hero. Rirudo is surprised as Gokuu
suddenly unleashes a rapid series of energy balls into the Shogun's belly
at close range. Rirudo isn't hurt much after the smoke clears. In fact,
he is having fun, and the two of the them resume bashing each other.
In the tower, Gill is watching as Trunks is about to be teleported to
Myuu's planet. Pan enters the lab room a moment too late. Gill tells her
what she already knows about Trunks being teleported. It adds "Pan.
Danger." Pan tries to attack Gill, but the room's defenses have been
activated and the floor warps and appears to be ready to squeeze her.
Instead, Pan is suddenly teleported down to the front gate of the tower
-- unharmed.
On Myuu's planet (a black sphere covered with huge conduit and black domes),
in a black tower designed to look monster-ish, Myuu is very eager to start
exploring the possibilities that have opened up with the advent of Trunks'
falling into his clutches.
Gokuu is firing energy blasts that hit everywhere but where Rirudo is
standing. The mutant disses the boy, before part of a volcanic wall tears
loose and falls on him. The Shogun gets angry, powering up and blasting
the rock away. Gokuu seems to have disappeared -- Rirudo locates him just
as the boy launches Kamehame-ha. The ensuing atomic blast apparently destroys
Rirudo. But, Gokuu knows that things can't be that simple -- Rirudo is
waiting at the boy's back, suffering a little superficial damage. Gokuu
comments that while Rirudo escaped the Kamehame-ha's full fury, the mutant
won't be so lucky next time. Rirudo isn't so sure -- he returns to the
ground to do more hand-to-hand combat, while the (are you surprised) still-surviving
EC4 swim through a metal pipe to approach their Shogun. All four robots
materialize and grab the boy's arms and legs.
Rirudo thinks that the fight is over, and Gokuu laughs. Rirudo asks what's
so funny; the boy goes SSJ, his ki blows a huge crate in the forest, blasts
Rirudo away, and smashes the EC4 into bits. Rirudo says that he now understands
-- Gokuu had only been using half of his full power until now. Gokuu says
"same for you, right?" It is time to quit playing around, and
Rirudo switches to the next level up, absorbing all of the loose bits
of machinery around him (including all of the EC4.) He announces that
he is now "Mega Rirudo".
When the hurricane subsides, the machine mutant is a cross between a metal
ninja and a jet plane (mostly red body, with stiff short wings coming
out of his back. His right hand is now the big power drill).
Gokuu is looking forward to having some real fun, and they rush forward
again.
------------------------------------------
NOTE: "Shutsujin"
actually translates to "Set out from the 'jin' in order to attack."
The 'jin' is a military formation that is part camp and part grouping
of foot soldiers. Probably, the closest English equivalent is "Engage!"

Episode #20
(Aired 7/31/96)
Tamageta zo!! Gokuu o osou kinzoku tsunami
Surprise!! Gokuu's Attacked By a Metal Storm
Gokuu and Rirudo fight, with the Shogun turning part of the mecha-forest
into stone, and Gokuu's body smashing it into rubble. Rirudo announces
his Hyper Mega Rirudo Pautsu (Parts?), and attacks with a power drill-powered
tornado. (Gokuu is still excited, but the battle is losing its glamour
for him.) Gokuu comments on Rirudo's great power, and they quickly revert
to energy ball blasts. Rirudo gets pummeled deep into the forest.
Meanwhile, Pan is once again fighting her way into the tower, while complaining
about Gill. Right after entering the lab, Pan has just a second to yell
at Gill before the lab's defenses activate and the room reforms to transport
her back outside.
Rirudo has gotten a little roughed up (the drill bit hand has been broken
off.) Gokuu knows that Rirudo is still not fighting at full strength and
demands that the Shogun power-up completely. The Shogun is impressed with
the boy's confidence, and understands why he'd make a great gift to Dr.
Myuu. Gokuu doesn't care about Myuu -- he only wants to see Rirudo's true
form. The Shogun then incorporates part of the planet's cabling into his
body; turning completely silver and smooth, except for some screw heads
scattered over his torso. He is now in complete control of the entire
planet. As Gokuu prepares to fire Kamehame-ha, Rirudo turns part of the
ground into liquid metal, and makes metal trees grow up right in front
of the boy (disrupting the Kamehame-ha.) The new liquid metal forest is
huge, and Rirudo merges in to become part of it.
Pan re-enters the tower, getting more annoyed every second. The red commandos
are alerted, and are waiting for her. Pan comments that the robots underestimate
her power, and they pile on top of her. She grouses that they are in her
way, and she trashes them -- knocking the robots off the pathway and into
the depths below. All except for one robot, which prudently jumps off
the path by itself. Another robot arrives behind her, and Pan attacks.
Then, she desperately tries to pull her punch when she recognizes the
old robot from the trash compactor room. Pan asks why she can't stay in
the room that Gill is in, and the old one answers that it's because of
the trans-dimensional warp equipment used to send stuff places, like to
Dr. Myuu's planet. Pan realizes that this is what happened to Trunks.
She asks for instructions on how to use the equipment, turning her charms
on the old one -- it answers "I don't know." So, Pan punches
it through the ceiling into the floor below (it can flow through metal
also.) She calls it a worthless old hulk.

[Commercial Break]

Rirudo joins
with the liquid metal again, and tells Gokuu that he is one with the entire
planet. Gokuu is fascinated. The boy loses interest fast though, saying
that he already realizes that Rirudo has great powers; but, he's in a
hurry and wants to start fighting full-out already. Rirudo seems to be
taking the bait.
On Myuu's planet, Dr. Myuu is watching the fight on a monitor, commenting
that Gokuu seems to be the "Legendary Super Saiya-jin." He keeps
laughing, and tells the frozen Trunks that he hopes to be using the Saiya's
powers very shortly.
Pan and the old robot get on an elevator, with a hundred red commandos.
Pan complains about their brain-damaged thinking, and when the doors open
again, none of the commandos work anymore. Pan confronts the traitorous
Gill, ranting that everything that happened from Ruudo's planet onwards
was all a trick to lead the heroes into the trap on this planet. Then,
the defenses trigger again, and Pan is pulled into the walls to be deposited
back outside. The old robot goes to the control console and pulls out
a cylinder that deactivates the wall warp. Pan blasts herself free from
the "rude" wall, and demands that Gill return the Dragon Balls
so that the Earth can be saved. Gill claims ignorance, and Pan gleefully
exclaims that it can't rely on the wall warp anymore. But, Gill phases
through the door and leaves the room. Pan tries to get Gill to open the
door, then prepares to use Kamehame-ha on it. The door opens, revealing
more guards, these armed with guns. Pan decides to use Kamehame-ha on
them instead. However, Gill reactivates the wall warp, the old robot gets
captured, Pan loses her concentration, and the walls force Pan back out
of the room. Gill says only one word -- "Pan".
Back outside once more, Pan wonders what to do now. Then, she notices
that one of the Dragon Balls is outside with her (Gill apparently transported
the three Dragon Balls, plus the medal it had been wearing, out to Pan.)
Pan is happy to see the Dragon Ball, but she also wonders "why?"
Gokuu and Rirudo keep messing around, with the Shogun using the metal
of the planet as extensions of his body. Gokuu is getting angry, and Rirudo
taunts him, saying that Gokuu will soon be given to Myuu.
------------------------------------------
NOTE: I am
not sure of the pronunciation of Rirudo's tornado attack. It sounds like
"Hyper Mega Rirudo Pautsu". It could be "Parts", which
doesn't make much sense. Or, it could be "Pa!", which is like
the energy-focusing yell that Tao Pie-pie used in his "Dodon-Pa"
attack. However, Rirudo only uses this attack once. Since he is killed
soon, this attack will never be repeated in the future.

Episode #21
(Aired 8/7/96)
Nante kotta!! Kinzokuban ni natta Gokuu
What is this!! Gokuu is Turned to Metal
There is a stare-off, and then the attack -- the shockwave flattens the
countryside. There's more fighting and Gokuu is kicked into a movie theater
in the city. Gokuu hides in the rubble, and Rirudo tries to blast him
out into the open. This causes the movie projector to start running, and
when the fighting resumes, Gokuu is amused that the female movie character
seems to be screaming in fear of Rirudo. The Shogun angrily blows up the
projector, and bats Gokuu out to the lobby. The boy lands on top of two
drink fountains, and comments on the delicious juice pouring on his head.
Rirudo wants to finish this off, and says "Good-bye" as he uses
his mouth blast. Gokuu aims the juice at the Shogun, blinding him, and
escapes.
A game of hide and seek follows until Gokuu's hiding place collapses under
him. Gokuu then hides by standing in front of a poster advertising the
movie -- Star-zine. Pan flies up, yelling that she has the Dragon Balls,
but couldn't save Trunks. Gokuu yells back that Pan should not come any
closer to the battle. Rirudo attacks Pan, while using his liquid metal
attack on Gokuu. Both Saiya-jin get nailed, and are quickly encased in
metal tablets. Back at the tower, Rirudo tells Gill to teleport the tablets
containing Gokuu and Pan. Gill gladly transports Gokuu, but objects that
it is not necessary to send Pan. Rirudo threatens Gill, and Pan is sent
as well. Then, at Dr. Myuu's lab, Myuu arrives and is very happy to have
all of the Saiya-jin PLUS the Dragon Balls. He orders the operation to
begin. All three tablets are placed on operating tables.

[Commercial Break]

Myuu switches
on the system. Targeting lasers draw intersecting lines on Gokuu. Gill
teleports in, and Myuu bids the robot to watch on as the work is about
to begin for cutting up the Saiya-jin in order to collect their energy.
But, Gill rushes over to Gokuu's control panel and shuts it down. Myuu
demands an answer for this. Gill replies with "Girurururu",
and fires a rocket at Myuu's control console, destroying it. Gill then
pulls out a strange knife. Myuu asks who had created M2, but Gill answers
that its friends are Pan, Gokuu, and Trunks; if Myuu threatens them, then
Myuu is not needed any more. Myuu can't understand this, and the robot
uses the knife to emit a special beam that melts Gokuu's tablet. As Myuu
is coping with the idea that all of this had been an elaborate trick,
Gokuu is freed, followed by Pan. Pan takes a moment to recover, then wants
to exact revenge on Gill, while Gill is trying to tell her what is going
on.
In the meantime, Myuu's henchbots grab Trunks' slab. If the tablet is
broken, it can't be restored, making it a good hostage. One henchbot is
sent to operate the transporter, but is obstructed by Gill. There now
ensues a game of keep away with Trunks' tablet, until Gill blows up the
teleporter -- distracting the henchbot trying to catch the tablet. The
tablet shatters on the floor. Myuu is as distressed as Pan and Gokuu are.
Then, Trunks shouts out that it's ok, he is "over here".
The camera pans to show Trunks coming down the stairs along one tall wall.
Gill chides Trunks for being late, and the boy apologizes -- he was busy.
Gokuu guesses that all of this was part of the plan; Pan doesn't understand
at all. Gokuu adds that this proves that Gill is A-OK. Trunks states that
he and Gill had planned all of this up to this point. The Trunks tablet
was a fake. Pan angrily grabs the robot, then is happy that Gill wasn't
a traitor after all.
Myuu orders his henchbots to open fire. The bots are destroyed and Myuu
runs up the stairs that Trunks had come down. Trunks flies to the top
of the stairs to stop Myuu, then shows the other two heroes the "secret
room". He opens the door at the top of the stairs to reveal a huge
open space. In the middle, in a big glass jar, is a metal larva-like embryo.

Episode #22
(Aired 8/14/96)
Abakareta yabou!! Ja-aku seimeitai Bebii
Violent Ambition!! Birth of the Evil 'Baby'
The secret room is HUGE, and Gokuu and Pan are in awe of the machine caring
for Baby. Myuu staggers towards his creation, apologizing to it. During
all of this, Baby seems to be sleeping, its heart beating noticeably,
but like it is in pain. Gokuu and Pan speculate over whether Baby is a
new kind of machine mutant, and Trunks tells them that Baby is very different
from the others -- a much more potentially powerful "neo-machine
mutant". Myuu wants to know why the intruders understand his secret
creation, and Trunks indicates that he'd been informed by Gill. Gill claims
that if Baby succeeded, it's kind would be superfluous -- it was either
Baby, or them. Which is why Trunks has already cut the power to Baby's
computer.
Myuu snaps. Of course, Trunks -- as the son of Bulma -- has the skill
to modify Myuu's computer's programming. At this point, as befits the
death of someone important and powerful, the rain starts (in this case,
it is a rain of meteors punching through the crystalline bio-dome and
splashing into the artificial lake.) Myuu becomes one with his computer
in an attempt to save Baby. Trunks claims that he'd killed Baby for the
sake of all life in all of the galaxies. When Pan realizes that Myuu's
goal of conquest included Earth, she gets righteously indignant, while
Gokuu is unimpressed. Trunks sides with Pan. Gill comments that it, and
it's kind, are guilty of doing many bad things for Myuu. Pan corrects
the robot, adding that it had at least helped them stop Myuu. Gill is
happy with this thought until Pan insults it as a joke; she then hops
around like a boxer to challenge the little mecha. Trunks says that there
was a lot of data to discover when he left M2, and he goes into a flashback.
When Trunks was still a tablet, Gill had teleported to Myuu's planet late
at night. A strange robot surprised Gill, but it only wanted to punch
the helpless Trunks tablet before wandering away. Gill then freed Trunks,
and they discussed their findings on the machine mutants until the fake
Trunks slab (created by Gill) teleported in. The two intruders share a
laugh as the flashback ends.
Back in reality, Trunks comments that it was a good thing he'd uncovered
Baby. Otherwise, there'd be no way of knowing what horrible things Baby
would be capable of doing, given that Myuu is such a talented scientist.
Myuu cries out for his creation to not die. He goes mad, rambling on about
how he slaved over Baby, to make it big and strong. He demands that Baby
live, as he smashes his fist into the control console monitor.

[Commercial Break]

Pan is feeling
a little pity for Myuu, and Gokuu ponders over the fun he could have had
fighting Baby. Trunks tries to get the boy to become serious. Gokuu wonders
if the neo-mutant is really dead. He crawls over the glass container like
a cockroach, inspecting the monster. Myuu berates the boy for this show
of disrespect, until Baby wakes up. Gill yells "Danger!", and
Myuu coos over his little "cute Baby". The neo-mutant powers
up, becoming fully formed.
Trunks is confused, having thought that he knew what he was doing. Myuu
becomes a gushing daddy, while Gokuu expects the worst. Baby explodes
free of his container, blowing the Saiya-jin out against the distant bio-dome
walls. (The dome shows holes where the meteors have fallen through.) Myuu
collapses to the ground. Gokuu yells for the others to stand alert, which
they do.
Myuu commands Baby to send the Saiya-jin to Hell. Baby marks his targets,
and says "sa -- ru -- jin". As Baby floats into the air and
begins to power up some more, Gokuu calls out "Pan", "Trunks"
-- "Now!" All three fire off their trademark energy balls, and
blow Baby to bits.
Disheartened, Myuu presses a button on his chest, which converts the remains
of Baby's container into a space ship. A bit of pink goo sneaks up Myuu's
leg as the doctor stumbles to the ship. Myuu (with the damage he's taken,
it is clear that he too is a machine) says "good-bye" and blasts
off. Pan yells at the doctor to come back, and has to be restrained by
Gokuu. Trunks tells her that with Baby dead, Myuu can no longer be a threat
on his own. It is time for them to return to the task of finding the Dragon
Balls. Pan asks about their ship -- Gill pulls out the energy knife to
show that the ship can be restored.
In his own ship, Myuu vows to make Baby's successor, to take over the
galaxy and destroy the Saiya-jin. Unfortunately, Baby takes over Myuu's
body, and bursts out -- killing Myuu. Baby comments on the programming
it had received, and the legacy bestowed on him by Ruudo and the other
mutants. But, Baby has his own plans and goals. He sets his sights on
M2 to intercept his prey. (When Baby crushed Myuu's head, the #1 Dragon
Ball rolled out.)

"birth", until someone can prove otherwise.

Episode #23
(Aired 8/21/96)
Kakusareta Kiki!? Nanbasen to Nazo no Shonen
A Hidden Crisis!? A Spacewrecked and Mysterious Boy
Gill fires a rocket at the Capsule Corp. ship, releasing an energy wave
that causes the frozen liquid metal to release the ship. Gokuu, Pan and
Trunks comment on this, and tell Gill that it has done a good job. They
get in the ship, and prepare to launch. Pan is glad to get away from this
planet, but doesn't want Gill to take offense. The engines fire to take
the heroes on to the next Dragon Ball. However, Hyper Mega Rirudo is still
alive, and he secretes an arm to grab a leg of the ship. At first, Pan
blames Trunks' driving for the sudden roughing up they get, then she blames
Gill.
Looking out a window, they see Rirudo, who asks if they really plan on
escaping M2 so easily. Trunks passes on the fate of Myuu to Rirudo, which
only makes the Shogun more angry. He excretes another arm and grabs a
second leg on the ship. Gokuu doesn't want to screw around any more, so
the three open the door of the ship and they simultaneously blast the
machine mutant in the face. He lets go, and the ship flies away, throwing
the heroes into a pile inside. Below, in a massive crater, Baby flows
away from Rirudo's destroyed body. Frustrated that it's plan failed, Baby
screams.
Inside the ship, Pan complains about where Gokuu's hand is located, calling
him a pervert. Gokuu denies that it's his hand that's touching her breast.
When the pile is sorted out, Pan asks Gokuu to help find the next Dragon
Ball. However, Gokuu is starving, and is therefore useless. He keeps complaining,
and Pan tells him to be quiet. Gill starts calling out, and Pan yells
at it to shut up. But, Trunks announces that they've located the next
Ball. It is on a spacewrecked starcruiser trapped in the gravity well
of a small star. Gill adds that the star's gravity pull is dangerously
strong. Gokuu challenges Pan to help get the Ball, and she berates him
for being the one earlier that was too weak to do anything. (Gokuu also
hopes to find food on the ship.)
The three, wearing protective suits, ride space scooters to the ship.
The wreck looks like it was in some kind of battle. Inside, there is more
damage, and no signs of life. Gokuu wants to look for food. Pan states
that they should get the Ball and leave before they get barbecued. Gill
declares that the Ball is behind a door. The door opens and they enter
what looks like an airlock. There is air in here, and they take off their
helmets. Gill points out another door; Gokuu blasts it out of the way.
The #1 Ball is mounted in some kind of holder in an open-sided pillar.
Pan removes the Ball, while Trunks comments that this all feels too easy.
Pan tells him to not worry about it. Then, she apparently feels someone's
ki. Gokuu and Trunks can't feel it, so Pan plans to check the ship alone.
The ship rocks, and Gill says that they have five minutes before it's
too late to leave. Pan gives the Ball to Gokuu for protection, then runs
off. Gokuu complains about Pan's behavior.
Before Trunks and Gokuu can mount the scooters to leave the ship, it starts
to explode and Gill tells them that they really only have two minutes
left before the ship is destroyed.

[Commercial Break]

Pan is walking
in the corridors when she is attacked by a large egg-bodied robot standing
on bird-legs. Pan demands an explanation, and it answers by firing a bunch
of missiles at her. When the smoke clears, Trunks and Gokuu are revealed,
having caught the missiles with their arms, legs, and teeth. Pan asks
why they are here with her, and is told that Gill says they're running
out of time. Pan quickly destroys the robot; she is pleased with herself,
but the others don't think that it was any big deal. Gill announces that
the ship is falling into the star.
They find a white faced, green haired boy in a cabin -- he is just barely
alive. Then, they run back to the space scooters while Gill counts off
the remaining seconds (until Pan hits Gill on the head). They escape the
shipwreck, but the scooters are not strong enough to escape the gravity
well. The wreck is consumed, Gokuu's suit starts smoldering, and they
abandon the scooters (which also fall into the star).
Pan can not fly hard enough, and she starts to fall behind (the alien
boy is strapped onto Trunks' back and has his own helmet.) Gill fires
off a cable that attaches itself to a leg of the Capsule Corp. ship. (The
gravity well is very steep for this star -- it tapers off quickly over
only a few hundred meters and does not seem to affect the CC ship at all.)
Gokuu grabs Gill, and Trunks grabs Gokuu and Pan. Gokuu lays out his plan.
Soon, they are all safely wrapped up with Gill's cable, and Gokuu uses
Kamehame-ha to propel them back to the safety of their ship. Then, they
fly away.
The alien is put on a medi-bed. It has an unusual anatomy, but seems to
be stable for the moment. Gill is commanded to check for subspace communications,
and locates a hospital on a nearby inhabited planet. (Sounds like Planet
"Pitaru".) Trunks and Pan say "We've been rescued."
Gokuu agrees -- This planet MUST have food. Pan bops him on the head.
It is a pretty green/blue planet like Earth, with a big hospital. Pan
accompanies the alien as it is wheeled on a gurney, stopping outside of
ER. She seems worried about the boy's chances. They wait a long time.
Finally, a doctor comes out to tell them that the worst is over and the
alien is ok. Pan and Trunks are relieved. Then, they discover that Gokuu
has disappeared. He is hiding under the couch, and he angrily says that
he hates hospitals and wants to leave this planet immediately.
In the recovery room, the monitoring equipment starts malfunctioning.
While the nurse tries to fix the problem, the boy wakes up and stands
up on the bed. His confused expression turns evil and the hospital is
rocked by a massive explosion. Several people in the corridor outside
the room look to have been killed in the flames. A nurse tells the heroes
that the blast came from the alien boy's room.
The narrator asks what kind of creature the boy is, and what have they
brought to this planet?

NOTE: I am
not sure of the name of this planet. It sounds like "Pitaru",
which could be "Petal". It is not written anywhere, and is not

Episode #24
(Aired 8/28/96)
Bebii gyaku shuu!! Nerawareta Saiyajin!!
Baby's Counterattack!! Target the Saiya-jin!!
The hospital staff struggles to contain the flames as the heroes run up
to them. Pan asks what's happened to the alien boy, and the rescuers don't
know. A secondary explosion goes off with a cloud of black smoke, sending
everyone into coughing jags. All except for Gokuu, who has rescued the
nurse and the boy.
The boy is wheeled into another room, and Pan says that even if Gokuu
hates hospitals, it's good that he'd stayed inside with them. However,
Gokuu is missing again and Trunks comments that the boy really does hate
hospitals. The alien is partially awake, and Baby thinks to itself that
it has another chance coming soon.
Outside, Gokuu is halfway up a tree, refusing to come down and enter the
building to eat. The only thing on this planet is the hospital, but Gokuu's
hunger is not enough to force him to enter the hated place. Pan and Trunks
pull Gokuu away, as the alien boy watches from a window. Baby has inserted
itself inside the boy's body, and it sticks its head out from under the
hospital gown. Baby is pleased with its trap and is eagerly looking forward
to sucking out the power of the 3 Saiya-jin. It asks the heroes to just
wait for it to discover its needed opening.
The male heroes find a river and catch fish bare-handed. One big fish
catches Gill. The robot gets free and hides behind Trunks. Pan is near
the hospital, petting a deer (the deer tries to suck her nipple and Pan
calls it "etchi".) The alien boy comes up behind her, commenting
that the deer really is cute. She asks if its ok for the boy to be out
walking like this, and he says that he's feeling fit enough. He asks where
Gokuu and Trunks are (catching food) and the deer bumps Pan in the butt.
Pan complains to the deer, turning her back on the alien boy. Baby reaches
out to grab her neck, looking forward to getting the Saiya power very
soon. But, Gokuu and Trunks pick this moment to arrive, and Baby has to
bide its time some more. Then, the main surgeon arrives. He tells the
boy that it's too early for him to be outside walking about. The alien
is put into a wheelchair and pushed back to the hospital.
The surgeon tells the boy that he's not strong enough to be outside, and
Baby decides to engulf the doctor (apparently entering the doctor's body
through his ears.) The surgeon/Baby asks a nurse to take the alien boy
back to the hospital (the boy doesn't seem to be dead, but he's not overly
active either.) Baby laughs at having found a new victim.
The three heroes are lying on a riverbank, having eaten all of the fish.
Trunks thinks that the weather is perfect for finding the next Ball. Pan
wonders how Earth is doing, and Trunks thinks that she is homesick. Gokuu
is still starving (the clouds remind him of food). Pan is also still hungry,
but Gokuu refuses to return to the hospital. The main surgeon walks up
and asks them to come eat. Gokuu claims that if they enter the building,
people will give them shots and they'll die. The doctor assures them that
this won't happen. 24 plates of food later, Gokuu is feeling better. He
asks for refills.
The doctor wonders if the older boy is named "Trunks"; would
Trunks like to have a tour of the hospital? Trunks claims to have never
been in a hospital on Earth, and so he wants to go on the tour.

[Commercial Break]

Trunks and
the doctor enter an isolated lab. Trunks is impressed, and he plays with
the controls of some scanner equipment. The doctor grabs Trunks by the
throat and drools over the chance to get the Saiya power. Baby exposes
itself, saying that it is the culmination of Myuu's science. With the
three Saiya-jin's power, it will become perfect. Trunks asks what had
happened on the shipwreck, and Baby answers that it had sucked everyone
dry. Baby launches itself at Trunks, and he asks if this is Gokuu's cue.
Gokuu replies "yes"; Baby gets hit by an energy blast. The mutant
is smashed over onto the floor. Turns out that the heroes had sensed Baby
back on the shipwreck, and had entered the trap to see what would happen.
Before engaging Baby in combat, Pan wants to know why it had one of the
Dragon Balls. Baby says that Myuu possessed that one Ball, and from the
data Myuu had gathered, Baby knew that it could be used as bait for the
trap.
Otherwise, Baby has no use for the Dragon Balls -- it just wants the Saiya-jin.
It attacks Pan, but is blown away by Gokuu. Baby gets a little roughed
up, and looks like it will be destroyed as the heroes prepare to blast
it all at once. Baby gets mad and powers up. The resulting explosion knocks
them away, and carves open Trunks' shoulder. This is the opening Baby
wanted; it enters Trunks' body through the wound. Gokuu and Pan realize
their mistake, and Baby glories in the powers it can command from a Saiya-jin.
Trunks/Baby blasts Gokuu in the face. When Gokuu tries to fight back,
Pan reminds him that it is Trunks that will get hurt or killed. While
they are arguing over this, Trunks/Baby attacks again. It looks like Gokuu
is in real danger, except that the next blast goes wild; Trunks is trying
to get control back over his body (the only choice that would be even
worse for Baby to make would be to try to control Vejiita).
Trunks goes to SSJ and Baby basks in the power it feels. Unfortunately,
its victim yells out "I am TRUNKS!!" and the mutant is expelled
back to the lab floor. Trunks powers down, and slumps over from weakness.
Baby realizes that it still can't achieve the power of a Saiya-jin. Gokuu
spots its hiding place. Baby emits a blinding light from its eyes. Gill
senses Baby's escape, but Gokuu can't react in time.
Later, as people are waiting to board a departing spaceliner, Baby emerges
from its hiding place behind a piece of luggage and takes over a new victim.
Gokuu loses Baby's energy signature, and the mutant boards the liner.
The heroes return to their ship, and Trunks speculates over what happened.
Pan is repulsed by the idea of a machine sneaking inside a body, then
asks if Gill can do the same thing. Gill panics and Pan laughs at her
joke. Trunks and Pan wonder if they should go after Baby or after the
remaining Dragon Balls. Gokuu is asked for his opinion. He says "Of
course... I'm still hungry." Pan asks if the only thing he ever thinks
about is food. He stands up, and succumbs to his starving stomach.
The narrator asks what the body-consuming Baby is really planning on doing,
and the camera shows that everyone on the spaceliner has been sucked dry.
And, the liner is heading towards Earth.
